Carraro is an international leader in the world of highly efficient, eco-compatible power transmission systems. The company started when Giovanni Carraro designed an in-line seeder in 1932 and began producing it. In 1958, Carraro produced its first tractor called the Tre Cavallini and became Italy’s greatest tractor manufacturer. In the 70s, Carraro shifted its focus on building parts and manufacturing drive systems for agriculture and construction. Today the company has three business areas: Carraro Drive Tech specializes in axles, transmission and drive systems; Agritalia specializes in tractors; Santerno specializes in inverters and converters. Today Carraro has plants in Italy, India, Argentina, China, South Africa, and Brazil.
